J and I were doing our usual wake-up routine. J, ever the gentle and loving child, wakes up first and bites me and slaps my face until I wake up and nurse him. So I'm nursing J, half asleep and half dressed, when some Hispanic men barge into the apartment to start prepping for new windows (I could've sworn the notice said it was to be done the next day). I emerged from my bedroom looking like one of The Walking Dead zombies and even though I was mostly blind from not having my glasses on, I could still make out their horrified expressions at my appearance. They scurried away, mumbling something about being back later, and I sat down with J at the kitchen table thinking that The Universe really hated me.
Until in walked my wonderful husband with a wonderful breakfast telling me that he had planned wonderful activities around LA for me! I was really surprised because he hadn't said that he was taking the day off, and I had just assumed that we would celebrate on the weekend.
First stop- Chinatown
We bought Asian junk food, ate pho, and walked around the tourist traps.
Second stop- Beverly Hills
We went to the Greystone Mansion and walked around the beautiful grounds. Then we went to Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant, Villa Blanca (Lisa is on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills). I had champagne and my husband had a fancy mojito. I was nursing my drink, hoping Lisa would pop in and I could see my first celebrity, but alas, no Lisa. I did, however, overhear the bartenders talking about when filming starts for the next season, so we will definitely be back in a few weeks.
Third stop- Brazilian steakhouse
Brazilian steakhouses are the best! We had one in Utah that was generally cheap for one. Did you have their cheese bread, pao de quijo? It's so good! Totally my favorite.
ReplyDeleteIt had a cheesy biscuit thing that I guess is what you're talking about. J scarfed down about 20 of them lol.
