Maxwell at 5 Months

Weight: 18 lbs.
Length: 26.5"
Clothing size: 6 month

  • He started laughing!
  • He can roll over front to back.
  • He can do supported sitting. He can sit in the tripod position for a few seconds before he tips over.
  • He does a full push-up on hands and knees. He scoots around a little bit, but we still put him on a blanket on the floor. He might turn in a circle or push himself back, but he doesn't go far. He does that "swimming" thing a lot where he has his arms and legs up in the air and moves them around.
  • He is becoming more skillful at using his fingers to pick things up and bring them to his mouth.
  • He loves Jackson and Mika and screeches when they play with him. He gets really happy when we pick them up from school.
  • We have daily "conversations" where he will coo and make random noises and I'll make the same sounds back. He thinks it's funny.
  • He knows his name! He turns his head to you if you say it.
  • I can carry him on my hip now because his back is strong enough for it.
  • He loves playing with the empty wipe packs because the plastic makes a fun crinkly noise and it's easy to pick up.

He loves:
being tickled
us making him dance
people kissing his feet
chewing on everything (but no teeth yet)
blowing raspberries and cooing
when I rub lotion on him

LOVE this smile

He thinks it's hilarious when we do this. Also I have to do it occasionally to make sure there's nothing stuck in his chins.

Always grabbing something, at least it wasn't my hair this time.
